Quite a common main course dish for lunch and dinner time in India. Along with chapatti (roti), you will usually find vegetable pulao. Even at Indian weddings vegetable pulao has to be there in the food being served to the guests. In short, the dish has a separate space in the heart of Indians. Let’s have a quick look at the ingredients required to make vegetable pulao:
- Rice One Glass (Serves 4)
- Water two and a half glasses (For One glass of Rice)
- Beans Half Kg
- Green Peas (One small bowl)
- Salt to taste
- Red chili powder (1 – 2 teaspoons)
- Turmeric (As you like)
Procedure to make
Wash rice in open water and remove any waste in it. Once cleaned, put rice in a bowl and keep it aside.
Take a frying pan and put it on low flame. Add chopped beans and a bowl full of peas to the pan.
Add red chili, salt, and turmeric as you like. Stir everything well.
Add rice we kept aside in a bowl
Stir the mixture once again and cook for 5 minutes on low flame.
Keep checking in between if the rice has small pours. That’s an indication for well-cooked rice.
Cook for a minute more and turn down the flame.
